Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage also known as Hot Rock Massage was used in ancient India and China, and more recently to the North American Indians living in the southwest states. Combining the benefits of hydrotherapy and thermalism with the strokes of massage using Stones to create a deep, relaxing and healing treatment. The heat of the massage stones warms the skin, which allows for the absorption of moisturizing and therapeutic oils, while simultaneously preparing the musculature of the body so the massage therapist can work into the deeper muscle layers.  

 

Anatomy and Physiology     

Anatomy & Physiology The purpose of this unit is to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of human Anatomy and Physiology, which is essential for assessment, communication and treatment of massage clients.

  Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy This course will give you an in depth theoretical knowledge of essential oils. Students will be able to competently perform an Aromatherapy massage on completion of the course. This is one of the modules in the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice  and the Certificate IV in Aromatherapy

Chakra Energy Massage

Chakra Energy Massage - There are seven major Chakra's which are located from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Students will study psycho-aromatherapy and learn how to use essential oils, music and colour to bring balance to the Chakra system.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Students will gain an understanding of the lymphatic system and its role in body defense. Students will become proficient in a style of massage which can be used to treat any physical disorders involving retention of fluid and the accumulation of metabolic waste in the body. This is a module in the Diploma of Remedial Massage

     Chinese Herbal Medicine Chinese Herbal Medicine  Students will get an introduction to Chinese Herbal Medicine. The course will focus on the most commonly used Chinese herbal patent medicine and students will be able to administer the appropriate formula for common conditions. This is also a module in the Diploma of Shiatsu & Oriental Therapies.
Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage The first core unit from the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice, which is your first level of industry qualification. Students will learn a one hour routine and will perform and receive a massage each week.

Spa Treatments Spa Treatments Students will study the different types of spa treatments including hydrotherapy, bath treatments and body treatments using essential oils. These will include body scrubs, clay and mud wraps and dry brushing. Students will also visit Kiva spa in Mullumbimby.
Shiatsu

Shiatsu Students will gain an understanding of basic oriental medical philosophy and be able to competently perform a Shiatsu massage treatment. This is the first core unit in the Diploma of Shiatsu & Oriental Therapies

Seated Massage

Seated Massage This is an excellent course for therapists planning to perform massages in the corporate world. Students will gain the knowledge and skills to perform a seated massage.  This is one of the modules in the Diploma of Remedial Massage.

Tuina (Chinese Massage) Tuina (Chinese Massage) An ancient Chinese massage based on Traditional Chinese Medicine meridians. The history of the style is covered and the practical application of individual massage techniques. It is also one of the modules in the Diploma of Shiatsu & Oriental Therapies
Holistic Facial Treatments Holistic Facial Treatments Students will study the skin and a relaxing , rejuvenating facial massage using selected essential oils. The treatments will be carried out using organic Australian Heritage Healers unique holistic skincare products.
Indian Head Massage Indian Head Massage This ancient technique has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. The secret of Indian woman's lustrous hair is the mixture of oil used in this massage. 
Pregnancy & Baby Massage Pregnancy & Baby Massage This course is designed to demonstrate the benefits of essential oils throughout the different stages of pregnancy. Particular focus will be given to understanding the changing physiology and emotions of the pregnant mother and how to best address these changes through aromatherapy massage. Baby massage is an excellent way to communicate with your baby.
Reflexology

Reflexology Most ancient cultures had some kind of foot therapy. Students will learn the basic concepts, be able to identify and manipulate the reflex points of the feet and perform a treatment. This is also a module in the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice, Certificate IV in Aromatherapy & Diploma of Reflexology
