This fun, one day, hands-on course gives you an introduction to massage and its benefits.

You will learn massage techniques to assist family and friends and it will help you decide whether you want a career in massage. You will learn basic Swedish massage covering back, neck, shoulders, head, legs and feet.

Swedish massage is the cornerstone of all massage, and is the first component of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy, which is your first level of industry qualification.

If you plan to become a professional massage therapist and develop your own healing ability, this is the unit to start with. This unit is also available for the hobby therapist to learn Relaxation Massage for their own use at home.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the cornerstone of all massage, which is your first level of industry qualification. Students will learn a one hour routine and will perform and receive a massage each week.

You will learn about the relevant physical changes and how to accommodate them in your massage and you will be able to deliver an enjoyable, relaxing, safe and remedial pregnancy massage. You will also learn when and how to perform postpartum massages.

This is an excellent course for therapists planning to perform massages in the corporate world. Students will gain the knowledge and skills to perform a seated massage.


Most ancient cultures had some kind of foot therapy. Students will learn the basic concepts, be able to identify and manipulate the reflex points of the feet and perform a treatment.

This ancient technique has been practised in India for over a thousand years. The secret of Indian woman’s lustrous hair is the mixture of oil used in this massage.

Students will gain an understanding of basic oriental medical philosophy and be able to competently perform a Shiatsu massage treatment.

The heat of the massage stones warms the skin, which allows for the absorption of moisturizing and therapeutic oils, while simultaneously preparing the musculature of the body so the massage therapist can work into the deeper muscle layers.

Deep tissue is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and can be used as an introduction to sports massage.

Students will gain an understanding of the lymphatic system and its role in body defense. Students will become proficient in a style of massage which can be used to treat any physical disorders involving retention of fluid and the accumulation of metabolic waste in the body.

-essential oils, chemistry, aromatherapy massage-

This course will give you an in depth theoretical knowledge of essential oils. Students will be able to competently perform an Aromatherapy massage on completion of the course.

This comprehensive course will take students from basic trigger point dry needling to advanced techniques that have been proven effective in the treatment and management of pain and injury. Students will also be shown how to effectively integrate dry needling protocols into their soft tissue treatments.

Facilitated stretching is an active form of stretching designed to enhance flexibility and Muscular strength.
