The Gold Coast offers glorious beaches, a tranquil hinterland, and abundant work opportunities for the massage & aromatherapy professional. The School is conveniently located a short distance from beaches, international hotels and restaurants, airports, medical facilities, public transport and shopping centres. General Living & Expenses


The following is an indicative price guide for general accommodation costs on the Gold Coast.

  • Home Stay AUD $230.00 to $270.00 per week depending on location and conditions of stay
  • Share Accommodation AUD $130.00 to $200.00 depending on location [does not include food] other cost may or may include utilities
  • Unit and house rentals from AUD $250.00 up, depending on size and location

Bus / Tram Services

Buses are readily available on the Gold Coast and times vary from 24 hour service to part time services depending on location and week day. Timetables are available on request from the school.

Taxi Services

Taxis are recommended for when going out at night. This can cost about AUD $15.00 – $35.00 depending where you want to go out. [Flag fall charges apply.]

Train Services

There are a number of train stations located throughout the Coast. The train service provided connects the Gold Coast to Brisbane and all major suburbs in between. The present train service terminates at Varsity Lakes Station.


Telephone costs varies depending on the provider, there are a number of telephone providers in Australia and it varies from AUD $0.17c – 0.30c per local call. You do not pay when you receive a call, only when you make a call. There is also a flat monthly rate which also varies depending on the provider. This can be anything from AUD $22.00 – $35.00 per month. There may also be a connection fee of AUD $50.00

Mobile / Cell Phones

This is a very competitive market in Australia, depending on the length of your stay, depends if you choose a phone with a fixed contract or a pre-paid phone. Phones vary in price from AUD $99.00 – $199.00 if you choose the pre paid option then you can buy cards that have AUD $10.00, $20.00, $50.00 credits. If you choose to go on a contract the term is generally 18months and you can buy a phone for $0 but the general monthly bill may from AUD $0 – $55.00 per month plus call costs.

There are many companies that offer internet services, internet speeds vary depending on the location of the property. (It varies from 56K to 24Mbit ADSL2+.) Please contact a local provider for terms, conditions and charges.

School Aged Dependants

Any school aged dependants accompanying International Students to Australia will be required to pay full fees if they are enrolled in either a government or non-government school.
