Certificate IV in Aromatherapy HLT42707

CRICOS COURSE CODE 063924A

Aromatherapy is the scientific use of pure chemical substances know as ‘essential oils’.  Essential oils have been prizes for their fragrances as well as their restorative effects on the body, mind and spirit for thousands of years.  An aromatherapist is trained in various applications of these essential oils, such as aromatherapy massage, to promote good health. With a focus of aromatherapy based relaxation massage, this course provides a broad range of knowledge, skills and practical modalities such as Swedish Massage and Reflexology.

Twenty essential oils will be studied including the chemical components which nature combines to make up the oils.  The character, origin and properties of each oil will be examined for its benefits and uses in treatment of various conditions.

Basic anatomy and physiology will be studied so that therapists have a sound understanding of the body.  Graduates will also acquire skills in assessing their client’s needs to plan the series of treatments.  This is the first level of qualification required to enter the aromatherapy/massage industry.

Each course provides invaluable hands-on workplace experience in our student clinic.  While treating members of the general public, students build up confidence in assessing and treating various health conditions in a supervised environment.

With your Certificate IV in Aromatherapy, you can register as a full remember with a national massage association and the International Federation of Aromatherapists (Australian Branch), obtain insurance and commence work
